Billing Specialist

• Serve as liaison between client/facility and their respective insurance carrier.• Establish patients' current insurance information.• Submit clean claims accurately to third-party payers onto billing software.• Follow-up on electronic and paper claims for assigned accounts.• Denial and insurance follow-up management on unpaid or rejected claims.• Adapt to changes in a positive manner, giving constructive feedback. Work as an effective team member, collaborating with other disciplines in the provision of care.• Participate in professional, continuing education related to their field and keep a record of continuing education attendance.• Identify performance improvement opportunities and participate in quality improvement endeavors.• Attend assigned and/or mandatory in-services and staff meetings and read and initials all minutes of meetings not attended.• Observe strict confidentiality of patient information and HIPAA regulations.
