We are looking for candidates to drive, design, and implement at scale our DevOps methodology. Our team brings that latest software development, automation, and deployment practices and applies them every day.As DevOps Engineer on this team, you will be responsible for supporting an always-available cloud-based SaaS platform. You will join a Scrum team of fellow engineers following DevOps philosophies. You’ll work closely with engineers to support packaging, deployment, monitoring, and system reliability. You will bring the latest tools and techniques to achieve optimal results for cloud applications as well as identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for deployment, management, and tooling. You’ll also develop tools to improve efficiency and provide self-service options. Additionally, you will stay up to date on the latest cloud development and deployment technologies.The Candidate:
Required skills:
Excellent communication skills; fluency in written and spoken English
Self-starter and collaborative team player
Ability to script in Bash, Python, or Ruby
Light experience in DevOps of large-scale web applications
An understanding of Agile/Scrum practices
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
Light experience with Linux in a production environment
Light experience with troubleshooting and resolving application and/or system-related issues
Familiarity with configuration management using Chef
Light experience with large-scale software development processes and multi-region deployments
An understanding of continuous integration systems (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
Preferred skills:
Java and/or web development experienceSoftware Engineers who want to start working as DevOps Engineers are welcome to apply. In this case, the software engineer candidate will need:
Experience designing, writing, and deploying scalable software
Hands-on experience with SQL databases and web application development
Excellent Object-Oriented design and coding skills
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences; fluency in written and spoken English
Quick learner with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience writing unit and integration tests
Ability to work with a team of engineers on cross-functional agile projects
An understanding of data structures, algorithm analysis, and design skills
