Joining the Western City & Aerotropolis Authority(the Authority) is an opportunity to become part of a professional, dynamicteam responsible for one of the largest city-shaping projects in the history ofNSW.
The Aerotropolis will be Sydney’s third CBD and a newbenchmark for connectivity, innovation and smart city design. The Authority ispartnering with all three levels of government and national and global industryto masterplan and deliver a city focussed on advanced manufacturing, aerospace,defence, quantum computing, research and agribusiness. Anchored by Sydney’sfirst 24/7 international airport, the Aerotropolis will open Western Sydney tothe world: delivering jobs, infrastructure, education pathways and enhancedliveability for the Western Parkland City.
We need experienced and motivated people to help deliverthe vision through a range of key disciplines: planning, investment attraction,engagement, legal, administration and much more.
Aboutthe Role
As the Commercial Director, you will be working closelywith the Executive Director, Commercial and the place based development teams tolead and drive the delivery of key commercial initiatives for the WesternSydney Aerotropolis Authority You will providerigorous, expert and strategic advice to the Leadership Team of the Authority.
You will engage at senior levels with majordomestic and global businesses to attract investment to the Aerotropolis. You will lead the development of innovativecommercial arrangements that deliver on the Government’s objectives forWestern Sydney.
Your focus will be on delivery of the Western Cityand Aerotropolis Strategy and achieving outcomes that represent value for moneyand a risk position consistent with approved parameters.
You will develop commercial policies that providefor strong commercial outcomes with the highest standards on integrity andgovernance expected of a government entity.
The Authority is committed to the development ofskilled and high performing teams. Youwill be responsible for building and managing a best in class commercial team thatis recognised across government and the private sector as a great team to dobusiness with.
You will also be responsible for the development ofproposals with both private and public sector as well as evaluating andanalysing each proposal to ensure evidence-based decision making each time.
This role requires you to be confident in providingadvice, influence and support in complex and politically sensitive commercialnegotiations with key stakeholders in the private sector whilst ensuring thatventures are aligned with Government standards. You will also have a strongknowledge and understanding of both of private sector and public sector issuesand complexity each sector holds and be able to use this knowledge to bestapproach your role.
