The American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) seeks a subject matter expert on institutional strengthening as part of ABA ROLI’s program in Colombia supporting the Rodrigo Lara Bonilla Judicial Training School.

Description:

At the direction of ABA or ABA-Colombia, the expert will provide periodic, intermittent support on matters related to the improvement of judicial training in Colombia. This support includes targeted contributions to training and technical assistance activities, each articulated in a distinct work order with clear instructions for work products and timelines. Areas of focus are expected to include (but are not limited to):

- Pedagogical Strategies, Techniques and Tools

- Proficiency-Based Education and Training

- Effective Engagement with Judges

- Judiciary Stakeholders

- Strategic Planning

- Organizational Improvement

- Judicial Politics

- Policy Design in the Judiciary

- Navigating Educational Policies

- Curriculum Development

- Course Delivery

- Online and Hybrid Learning

Specifications:

- This assignment will begin on/about July 1, 2020 and will continue in effect through December 31, 2020, with the possibility of extension.

- This assignment will include up to 50 total days of work on an intermittent basis, with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications Requirements:

- J.D., M.A., Ph.D. or other advanced degree in law and/or adult education, or related discipline

- 7+ years of experience delivering technical assistance as part of international judicial training/strengthening initiatives

- Experience as a judicial trainer preferred

- Experience training judges or strengthening judicial institutions in Latin America preferred

- Experience working in support of U.S. government-funded international development programs an asset

- Professional or native proficiency in written Spanish desired
