The Point to Point Transport Commissioner (
Commissioner
) is an independent statutory office holder appointed under the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2016.
The Point to Point Transport Commission is a separate Division within Transport for NSW with officers employed in the Transport Service of New South Wales to support the Commissioner in the exercise of his independent statutory functions including the investigation and prosecution of offences under the Act.
The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver high quality, high value, timely and solutions focussed independent legal advice to the Commissioner, principally in the areas of compliance, investigations, prosecutions, and administrative law but also in relation to general regulatory matters. The role is embedded in the offices of the Commissioner and operates with a high degree of autonomy and independence.
The role will be instrumental in assisting the Commissioner in the exercise of statutory functions.
The role is also required to share knowledge and experience with, and give assistance to, other members of the Division and the Legal, Privacy and Information Access branch and to undertake other work allocated by the Deputy General Counsel Regulatory & Employment or Group General Counsel as necessary.
This role reports to the Deputy General Counsel, Regulatory and Employment.
