As part of the continued growth and innovation of our Site Investigation and Risk Assessment (SIRA) technical capabilities, ERM has opportunities for experienced consultants to join our global consulting firm. This is a full time, permanent position with a focus on Project & Programme Management of complex projects with high risk.


ERM helps clients safely develop sustainable solutions to their contaminated land management challenges. Contaminated sites represent a major risk to the reputation and financial stability of a company. Faced with a trend toward more protective regulatory standards for a growing list of contaminants and greater stakeholder focus on sustainability, organizations need to be able to quickly and effectively identify and address risk. Our skill sets combine site investigation, risk assessment, remediation technology, financial, project and contract management, regulatory negotiations and field services. By enhancing site investigations and strengthening risk analysis, ERM helps clients make smarter and faster decisions about contaminated sites and risk-management activities.


To support the successful delivery of ERM projects and objectives by:

Project managing complex contaminated land projects/ deliverables through planning and delivering field works through budget/task management.

Designing, implementing and reporting environmental site assessments. Including supervision of complex field activities, such as groundwater bore installation, development and monitoring, tank removal works, and soil investigations;

Reviewing health and safety documentation for site works;

Providing completed tasks and inputs into elements of projects and/or proposals;

Building effective working relationships with clients, project teams, disciplines and business units;

Understanding ERM's focus sectors, technical communities, products and services; and

Lead project teams to meet business financial targets, overall project budget and schedule, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal and contract requirements.


We are looking for an individual who combines effective project management, a strong technical foundation and a desire to foster and expand a network of strong client relationships. Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Degree qualified in science, engineering or environmental management;

12+ years of consulting experience in contaminated land, working substantially with the land development, oil and gas, power, chemical, heavy infrastructure and/or manufacturing sectors.

Demonstrable track record in successful project management in consulting

Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges, and recognize corporate opportunities.

High appreciation and understanding of Health & Safety requirements while undertaking environmental field works; Safety Training including Construction Induction Card and HAZWOPER Equivalent Training (highly desirable);

Proven report writing skills;

Exceptional relationship building skills;

Willingness to travel around Australia or internationally;

Authorisation to work in Australia
