The Recreation Curriculum Coordinator VISTA will be an essential member of the team for this local government organization. This person will primarily serve to develop recreation, healthy living and educational components to the Youth programs. The COR Youth programs use local schools, parks, and community centers to deliver recreation programs for youth 6-18 years of age. This VISTA will develop curriculum in recreation, healthy living education including STEAM activities and reading. This will include maintaining relationships with COR recreation administrators and recreation leaders, developing and fine-tuning curriculum, and training staff through site visits, workshops, and training days. The Recreation Curriculum Coordinator VISTA will also develop an afterschool athletic league component for the Sierra Kids before and after school program. Additionally, they will expand the healthy living, educational and recreation components of other COR Youth and Inclusion programs.
