Senior Payroll Specialist (Leader)
We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist (Leader) to join our team.
In this role, you will be fully responsible for the end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with Colombian labor laws, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for our international leadership and local employees, requiring seamless communication in both English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Payroll Processing: Lead and execute the complete monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycle for local operations, ensuring 100% accuracy.
Compliance & Tax Regulations: Manage social security contributions (PILA), withholding taxes, and local labor law requirements.
Reporting & Auditing: Prepare, audit, and present payroll metrics, variances, and financial reports to regional leadership and international stakeholders.
Government & Regulatory Liaison: Handle reporting, documentation, and compliance requirements for local entities such as UGPP, DIAN, and family compensation funds.
Employee Support: Act as the main point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries, deductions, benefits, and local tax questions.
System Optimization: Maintain and optimize payroll ERP software data integrity, ensuring accurate tracking of overtime, leaves of absence, and terminations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of solid experience in end-to-end Colombian payroll management, preferably within multinational companies or shared services environments.
Language Skills: Professional proficiency in English (B2); capable of leading meetings and writing detailed reports for non-Spanish speaking managers.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas) and hands‐on experience with robust ERPs.
Key Competencies: Deep knowledge of Colombian labor code, UGPP regulations, strong analytical thinking, and high discretion when handling confidential data.
