What You'll Bring: J.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited law school required; data privacy, civil, commercial, contractual and/or financial law post degree in addition is essential. Requires 10+ years of legal experience including in-house counsel experience or as a practicing attorney within a top law firm advising multinational clients in the industry. Familiarity with data privacy, credit reporting, banking and/or finance industries preferred; experience in a regulated industry essential. Bilingual in Spanish-English required. Impact You'll Make: This position is responsible for managing and enhancing compliance of legal requirements and corporate policies in Colombia. Is also responsible for promoting awareness of relevant legal and compliance requirements from the legal perspective assuring compliance of the current legal framework, coordinate and manage the regulatory legal team responsible for handle corporative matters, monitor the regulatory initiatives that could impact the business or the operation of the Company, lead the litigation strategy, and provide legal support to internal areas as Consumer and Data Operations, Solutions, Analytics, Human Resources, among others. Provide legal support and approval to TransUnion's business in Colombia by assuring legal the structuring, development or implementation of new businesses, initiatives with clients, projects, solutions or the use of new technologies by any business unit, comply with local laws, regulatory provisions, identifying risks and implementing appropriate mitigating measures to minimize pertinent risks. Lead the regulatory monitoring and evaluation of new legislative and regulatory initiatives in all levels that could potentially impact the business and the operation of the company, developing effective liaisons with regulators, associations, legislative staff, and external stakeholders to ensure timely awareness of the initiatives into the Company, leading the internal analysis and measurement of the impact on all business units and on all aspects of business operations in Colombia, be responsible for develop and implement effective strategies to defend or oppose those initiatives. Lead the corporative matters of the Company in Colombia, preparing and approving all the documents related, but not limited to adjustments to the bylaws, appointments of legal representatives, granting of proxies, etc., being responsible of the direct contact and approvals obtention from the corporative VP for international affiliates. Provide legal support and advice to Consumer and Data Operations to ensure such areas and its processes comply with local laws, regulatory provisions, and that all legal risks are minimized, participating actively in the internal committees and in the approaching strategy before the clients and the regulators. Lead the litigation strategy, supervising the external attorneys and providing guidance to the operations team responsible for the tutelas attention to ensure the best defense possible of the interests of the Company. Act as Data Protection Officer, coordinate and lead the Data Protection Committee, be responsible for ensure the internal compliance of all the accountability principle, the approval of all national and/or international data transmission and transfer operations, the approval of the correspondent contracts and agreements mandatory by law, participate into and approve all the internal and corporate projects that involves data privacy matters, and develop all the activities that contained the Personal Data Protection Program, including its update as well the compliance and the permanent update of the privacy policy of TransUnion Colombia. Provide the legal guidance to respond and attend all the requests, communications, audits, visits, and investigations of the regulators such as the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, the Companies Superintendence, the Superintendence of Finance, Legislators, and the DIAN. Bring necessary senior management into discussions as necessary. Prepare and execute contracts and agreements, especially with allies, corporate affiliates, and public entities by analyzing, drafting, negotiating, reviewing and filing these documents, ensuring the company's obligations are compatible and enforceable with management's philosophy and corporate policies. Perform other related duties as assigned. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
