Job Summary:
Plans, directs and coordinates activities in order to ensure Company project goals are accomplished within defined scope, time, and cost constraints. Project Manager provides leadership and directs strategy for Engineering Projects efforts in support of plant's strategic and production plans. He/she leads short-term and long-term capital projects, along with day-to-day Plant Engineering and Financial activities and team management.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepares project proposals including goals, time frame, budget and procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, regulatory permits and endorsements, general contract management, allotment of resources, startup and commissioning.
Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones and required tasks.
Coordinates recruitment of contractors or assignment of required project personnel and assigns duties. Supervise that contractors perform their job in accordance to the environmental requirements in order to reduce, minimize or prevent environmental impacts.

Lead capital projects and manage the capital spend start to finish along with managing internal workforce, contractors throughout the process and stakeholders.

Establishes procedures for project reporting and documentation. Reviews statuses and modifies schedules as needed.
Prepares reports and keeps management informed of project status and related issues.
Maintains an effective communication with internal customers, external providers, contractors and regulatory agencies in relation to project activities and requirements.
Responsible for the CapEx Projects Justification process.
Informs customers and management on project activities and progress on a routine basis through formal reports.
Inform performance metrics to the management.
Coordinates and responds to requests for changes from original specifications.
Develops business processes that ensure developed application meets all project requirements.
Coordinates project tasks with other units to ensure goals and requirements are met.
Develops annual CapEx budget and executes business plans, including the development & implementation of strategies, processes & programs.
Develops and maintains technical and project documentation including engineering drawings and specifications. Ensure all documents are updated in the central project file.
Searches for new equipment and technology suitable to concentrate manufacturing operations.
Train new associates and contractors in internal procedures as appropriate.
Identifies current and future needs for capital projects implementation according to Company strategic plan and provides engineering-consulting services to other Units.
Develops technical guidelines to assure that installations comply with applicable design codes, Company standards and regulations. Develops quality assurance test plans and directs quality assurance testing.
Team member of the CRC and responsible for part of the CapEx justification process for CPS Global.
Update the Master Plan according with new projects and updated business data.
Creation of General and Specific RFAs for projects, for shift of funds, cancellation of equipment, exchange rate, etc (RFA's databases manage).
Ensures, where applicable, that ergonomic, motion and time studies are performed to improve working conditions following applicable standards and guidelines.
Designs, tests and procures specialized process equipment unique to the concentrate manufacturing business.
Solve capital project budget issues which will require decision making on how to distribute it to better fit the plant's needs.
Ensure that the environmental considerations, legal and corporate requirements and efficiency indicators are included in new project design and project evaluation, in order to maximize the cost/benefit ratio and minimize the environmental impacts.
Ensure that environmental performance indicators are included in the selection process of contractors and re-evaluate its environmental performance periodically.
Support for financial report at the end of each month, quarter and year (Carryover).
Responsible to comply with all Internal Control requirements in own department and CRI as applicable.
Maintain current knowledge of the potential environmental aspects of new projects, including:
Air Emissions
Water consumption
Energy
Wastewater generation
Biological Waste
Chemical purchase, handling and storage
Hazardous and non-hazardous waste
Noise and odors
Visual impacts
Potential groundwater contamination
Potential Emergency situations
Participate and promote activities with the OE Team that contribute toward continuous improvement and problem solving activities (5's, workplace audit, T Cards, Idea Cards, Big C, Tip Plan, Communication Center, etc.).
Qualifications & Related Experience: University/Bachelor's Degree: Engineering Degree or MBA with major on related field are a plus.
Not direct reports, but will have supervisory activities related to maintenance technicians.
5 to 7 years experience in Engineering with at least 2 year's experience in project management within concentrate plants.
Fluent written and spoken English with strong communication skills required. Ability to operate in multi-cultural environment.
Order to cash experience.
Demonstrated ability of managing cost and productivity performance.
SAP competence in SAP 08 and 40 desirable.
Travel Requirements: Can be required to travel from 5% to 25% of time.
Relocation Provided: No. The occupation of the position does not include relocation.
Technical skills and certification: Service Fulfillment: Knowledge of supplier fulfillment capabilities to meet customer and internal requirements. Ability to build system capability and capacity to ensure service is provided effectively, timely and efficiently. Advanced Project Management: Ability to lead capital (e.g., construction) and/or high-profile projects that involve cross-functional teams. Includes the ability to manage large budgets, broad scopes, multiple suppliers and/or team members from partner companies. Advanced Material Science: Knowledge of fundamental material properties and their impact on existing and new applications. Includes the ability to identify new materials and application opportunities, to identify limitations in existing materials and to organize and/or develop new technologies to address limitations. Engineering Analysis: Knowledge of engineering analytical tools including critical path problem solving, fault tree analysis and root cause failure analysis for the purpose of determining design feasibility and identifying sources of variation from designed performance specifications. Financial Analysis: Knowledge and application of the principles of financial analysis and capital project justification (e.g., life cost analysis, internal rate of return, net present value, economic profit, economic value added). Process Management: Knowledge of process definition, flow charting and process management techniques. Includes knowledge of scale-up from bench to commercialization and process/formula ingredient interactions. Ability to establish and define processes, interrelationships, key controls, and to continuously monitor and improve processes to facilitate the efficient and effective execution of business activities. Other Competences Required: Analysis Ability to understand and analyze financial to support decision-making. data (e.g., validity of balance sheet, account balance, P&L variance, volume trends, returns on investments).

Negotiation and execution coordination with suppliers
Exchanging experience at Global Engineering forum
Non-Essential Functions: Identifies and uses external consulting services.
