Graduate Assistant for the Department of Physical TherapyCollege of Health and Human ServicesPosition Overview:The Department of Physical Therapy seeks students as Graduate Assistants. Appointments are contingent upon adequate funding.The Graduate Assistant will provide general assistance in the anatomy laboratory. Responsibilities include assisting the instructors with cadaveric specimen dissections for the anatomy and neuroanatomy courses, supervising students performing dissections, helping set up the lab for exams, preparing dissection kits for students, assisting the instructors during lab sessions when the sessions do not conflict with the Graduate Assistant coursework, helping with the lab organization including disinfecting equipment and maintaining a laboratory inventory that includes cadaveric specimens, equipment, and plastic anatomical models, coordinating the lab coats washing with students, assisting with the processing of new cadaveric specimens at the beginning of the academic year and preparing dissected cadaveric specimens to be sent back to the whole-body donor's program.The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign Graduate Assistants to the courses or duties that are appropriate for the department program and curriculum in any given semester. Due to staff and curriculum changes, appointments may vary, and no guarantee of employment from semester to semester can be made.Anticipated Appointment Dates: This position is opened until filled. This form substantiates the jobs included for the department teaching associate position.The Graduate Assistant is a student position for those actively enrolled in a graduate program at Fresno State.
