Funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC), Cuso International is implementing the volunteer cooperation program Sharing Canadian Experience for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE) (2020-2028) in 10 countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.  Reporting directly to the Regional Program Manager (RPM), the Finance Officer (FO) will have responsibility for financial management of SHARE in the country. Supported by the RPM and working closely with the country Program Officer (PO) and lead partner(s), the FO will support effective planning and execution of the SHARE budget in country, including development and monitoring of the country workplan and budget. The Finance Officer, who reports directly to the Regional Program Manager  SHARE, is responsible for ensuring that financial activities are carried out timely and correctly. , is responsible for ensuring that financial activities are carried out timely and correctly. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES Financial Transactions and Reports Create and maintain a filing system for SHARE's monthly financial information.Enter data into the SHARE accounting system to for various financial transactions (e.g. payments, vouchers).Manage payroll for staff, volunteers; They are paid biweekly, monthly and quarterly.Print and distribute staff payrolls, when required by the Finance and Administration Manager.Support the Program Officer (PO) and Regional Program Manager with development, monitoring and reporting of the SHARE annual budget for ColombiaPrepare and present monthly financial reports for the SHARE projectPrepare and submit monthly tax reports for the SHARE project.Process discharges, staff reimbursements, and petty cash payments; reconcile minor expenses and enter data into the SHARE financial system.Process monthly rental payments for staff, volunteers.Review account statements weekly, record data in the cash book.Prepare monthly financial balances through analysis of accounting account reconciliations.Prepare the monthly request for funds for the Regional Finance Officer and Cuso International Canada office.Manage the process for issuing income invoices to donors.Give introductory talks on finances to volunteers during their induction in the country.Manage insurance for the Cuso International office in Bogotá, including renewals, additions and claims.Support the Finance and Administration Manager, SHARE, in the monthly review of the use of unrestricted funds, the preparation of documents and reports, and the preparation for financial audits requested and/or carried out by donors.Maintain accounts payable and receivable to ensure complete and accurate records of funds.Issue checks and enter data into the SHARE financial system.Support the PO with disbursement of funds to partners in compliance with Cuso International and donor policiesMaintains and updates Office Equipment's records. Attach Asset Tag number to all Equipment. Participate in physical count of equipment and supplies.Other responsibilities Fulfill other responsibilities, as required by the RPM.POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education Relevant accreditation finances and/or financial managementExperience At least five (5) years relevant experience in financial management associated with the implementing and management of project budgets, including monitoring and budget planning.Experience developing, planning and managing large budgets for international donors, such as GAC, UN Agencies and USAID.Experience in working with financial/accounting software and spreadsheets such as Excel, SAGE and QuickBooks.Experience in creating accurate and precise financial reports.Strong record of providing quality customer service to internal and external clients, including partners and donors.Proven ability to be self-serving in IT (Outlook, Email, databases, basic excel, Powerpoint, amongst others) and willingness to develop IT skills to improve effectiveness at work.Knowledge Knowledge and understanding of Colombian taxation processesCapacities, Skills and Competencies Strong attention to detail, including the ability to identify, resolve, and correct errors Ability to manage time, tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality of financial data Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural context, in multiple teams that may be geographically dispersed Fluency in SpanishStrong working ability in English, both spoken and written HOW TO APPLY   Please click the  "Apply for This Job" button to?submit your application by February 9, 2024, at 11:59PM (EST) for Internal & External candidate.Expressions of interest should be sent in English.
